Viva Piñata DS/360 Has Connectivity... Sort Of

The new Viva Piñata: Trouble In Paradise for the Xbox 360 uses the Live Vision Camera to read codes found on Viva Piñata cards, unlocking new Piñatas, and allowing you to create your own cards on the website and share them with your friends. It seems kinda impractical though.. (if only there was another way of entering short text strings into a game...) though I would imagine it to be pretty fun.
But the way it has been designed allows you to scan not only from physical cards but from screens on computers and portable devices, which enhances the possibilities for sharing. And here's where the DS comes in; it has it's own upcoming Viva Piñata game (Viva Piñata: Pocket Paradise). And guess what? The DS has screens. Well, two infact. And don't you think it would be cool if you could use your DS to send Piñatas to your 360? Well it would be. And it is.
Apparently, Rare had implemented it into the system... but unfortunately, a bit too late; "We got it to work, but it was too late in the development cycle," Rare's Justin Cook says, "It's one of those things where you just kick yourself." So I guess it won't be happening *sad faces everywhere*
Don't you think the sensible thing to do though would be to just delay the game?
